Charges

In commercial disputes, fees for acting as a mediator are charged at hourly rates based on the complexity of the issues to be dealt with, but within the parameters of £150.00 to £350.00 per hour.

It could, for example, be possible to deal with a commercial dispute in the space of half a day with an hour pre-reading, and in that event, the fee could be £600.00. The fee for a more complicated, and therefore lengthier, mediation will increase accordingly. All quoted fees will be shared in such manner as is agreed between the parties.

In order to encourage and promote the use of alternative dispute resolution, discounted rates for the services of mediators are available in non-commercial matters in which it would not be appropriate to charge full professional rates.

Where the parties are represented by solicitors, the undertaking of the solicitors concerned to be jointly responsible for the fees at the conclusion of the matter will be acceptable, although, in protracted cases, payments on account will be required during the progress of the case. If the parties are not represented by solicitors, payment in advance will be required.

All fees quoted are, and will be net of VAT.
